MPs will question Commissioner for Victims and Survivors for Northern Ireland Joe McVey and representatives of key victims and survivors organisations as part of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee’s reconciliation inquiry.
\r\nThe inquiry is exploring what reconciliation in Northern Ireland means today and the role of social, cultural and political factors in shaping and constraining it. It is also looking at coordination between Westminster and Stormont and the UK and Irish Governments, as well as issues related to political will and funding.

\r\nThe panel is also likely to be asked about the speed of progress of the Troubles Bill, how the education system in Northern Ireland engages with young people on legacy issues and the importance to reconciliation of all parties acknowledging their roles in the conflict of the past.
\r\nMPs will then question Mr McVey on his views on the issues and more generally about his role, and the role of the Commission for Victims and Survivors, in promoting reconciliation in Northern Ireland.
